MEDICAL RADIATION SCIENCES (BSc)
MRS comprises three streams: Radiation Therapy, Radiological Technology, and Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging Technology (NMMIT). Radiation Therapists use ionizing radiation to destroy cancerous tissue while monitoring patients; Radiological Technologists use external x-rays to image body structures; and Nuclear Medicine Technologists administer radiopharmaceuticals to assess organ function and cellular disease.

MEDICINE (MD)
Medical doctors aim to maintain, restore, or improve both physical and mental health. They engage in health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and management of illness and injury. Medical doctors order and perform diagnostic tests, prescribe and administer medications, perform surgery, and conduct research.

NURSING (BScN or MN)
Nurses use their knowledge, skills and clinical judgement to achieve optimal health outcomes for patients. In addition to working closely with other health professionals to achieve this, they can be involved in advocacy, research, education, and influencing public health policy. Nurses work in acute, rehabilitation, and long term care; clinics, community agencies, public health departments, and more!

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY (MScOT)
The goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the occupations which give meaning and purpose to their lives. Occupation refers to everything that people do during the course of everyday life. This can involve assisting clients to regain ability to care for themselves, returning to work after illness or injury, mobility and seating problems, and home or workplace modifications.

PHARMACY (PharmD)
Pharmacists are experts in medication therapy management, including assessing that the appropriate medication is used at the right time; as well as cost, availability, and adherence considerations. In Ontario, pharmacists are also able to prescribe certain medications, modify prescriptions, and administer the influenza vaccine.

Physical therapy involves the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients experiencing physical dysfunction, injury or pain. Physical therapists promote mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and minimize or manage disability through physical modalities. Areas of practice can include cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, and neurological.

Physician Assistants (PA) are trained in the medical model to provide a broad range of medical services. PAs are highly skilled mid-level health care providers whose scope evolves with individual development of new skills, and in collaboration with their supervising physician. This can involve taking histories, performing physical exams and procedures, interpreting tests and imaging, and educating patients.

SOCIAL WORK (MSW)
Social work involves counselling clients experiencing challenges and/or conflict. Social workers facilitate individual and group therapy, provide resources and connections across or within the community, advocate best practices for patients in hospital, evaluate social programs, and conduct research.
